Obituary for Donald R Davidson Sr.
Donald R Davidson Sr., 74, of Cleveland, Ohio, went home to God on April 8, 2026.
Donald was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated from Shaw High School and went on to attend Cuyahoga Community College. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a time that reflected his courage, strength, and commitment to something greater than himself. For his military service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a testament to his dedication and sacrifice.
After his military service, Donald worked as a Pay Technician at the Federal Building, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
But more than anything, Donald was defined by his heart.
He was a loving, giving man whose life was centered around his family. He was a proud father to his sons—DJ, Meechie, Carleo, and Darian—and found his greatest joy in watching them grow and become men. His love extended beyond blood, as he also helped raise Lisa and Tamika, the daughters of his then wife, Robyn, as his own daughters with care, guidance, and support.
He also shared a part of his life with his first wife, Lolita.
He was deeply connected to his siblings—Pamela, Linda, Cynthia, and Neil—and maintained close bonds with his friends, including Ms. Sheric, Ted, Larry, and Charru, who meant so much to him.
Donald was also preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edgar and Lela, his brother Larry, as well as his dear friends Shurn and Pap, who now welcome him home in Heaven.
If you knew Donald, you knew his spirit. He was the kind of man who would give even when he didn’t have much, who would check in on you just to make sure you were okay, and who made people feel valued and loved. He enjoyed the simple things—planting flowers, talking on the phone with family and friends, and watching his favorite shows like The First 48, Cops, and The Jerry Springer Show. Most of all, he loved being around his family.
Most importantly, Donald loved the Lord. His faith guided how he lived—with kindness, patience, and generosity.
Though his passing leaves a deep void, his love remains. It lives on in his children, his family, and everyone blessed to know him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
Donald’s life was a reflection of that verse—a life of love, faith, and giving.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
