Doris was born March 28, 1953 in Akron, Ohio to John and Jessie McCormick. She was the first girl born of eight siblings.
Doris attended Akron Public Schools, graduating from Buchtel High School in the class of 1971. She worked for Broadview Heights Mental Institution until her health prevented her from working.
Doris had a loving and devoted heart toward others. She loved kids and had a hand in raising many, Maurice, Kendell, Morgan, Dorian, and Loren just to name a few.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, John McCormick; brothers, Charles and Gerald McCormick; and sisters-in-law, Anita McCormick and Debora McCormick-Persons.
She leaves with lasting memories her mother, Jessie McCormick; daughter Unique (Dierre) Clayton; grandson, Dierre Clayton II; granddaughters, DaNique and Devyn Clayton; sisters, Tonya (Wayne) Johnson and Carol Sanders; brothers, John William (Patricia) McCormick, Thomas (Kimberly) McCormick and Rufus McCormick; sister-in-law, Sadie Brown McCormick, and a host of relatives and friends.
