Doris Mae Cooper was born September 10, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the union of George and Morine Granger. Doris received her education from the Cleveland Public Schools. After her education, she met and married Bill Matt Cooper in November 1952, who preceded her in death in 2009. From that union, eight children were born; Lovell Cooper (the oldest child, preceded her in death in 2005), Sharon Watts-Crawford (Arzell), Denise Cooper-Menefee, Joyce Wilcox (Charles), Sheila Parnther, Darlene Cooper-Clay, Samuel Cooper and Mark Cooper.
Doris accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the tender age of 11 years old. She worshiped and praised the Lord all of her life.
She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many others. She was a caregiver to all that needed her. She worked for Cleveland Public School System, Cuyahoga Hill Youth Center, and University Hospitals, where she retired from.
Doris’ five siblings preceded her in death (Walter Jackson, Mary Watts, Thomas Jackson, Georgine Rountree and Evelyn Wheeler).
Doris leaves to mourn her, seven children, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren (her oldest grandchild, William Watts, preceded her in death); 2 sister-in-laws, Dora Jackson of Atlanta, GA and Janice Hill; 2 brother-in-laws, Samuel Cooper and Carl Hill; and daughter-in-law, Estelle Cooper.
