Doris Ann McCoy was born on December 21, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Benjamin and Jennie. Doris was the middle of three children, having two sisters, Arlene Glenn, and Jennifer McCoy. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1975.
After high school, she worked and attended college courses while pursuing a career as a computer technology professional and was a lifelong learner up until being called home.
Though Doris didn’t have any biological children, she cared for her nephews and niece, D’Artagnan, Latoya, and Michael, as if they were her own. Doris loved watching and laughing at the next generation, which included her great-nieces and great-nephews. Family meant everything to her. She would say, “We all we got!”
Doris was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of the Christian faith. Doris loved to sing and line dance, especially with her big sister, Arlene. Following retirement, she enjoyed working a few hours a week with special needs children and volunteering with the elderly in the activities department. Her favorite things to do towards the end of her life were spending time with family, watching television with her feet kicked up, text messaging, and “playing my number,” as she would say.
On Wednesday, February 15, she answered the call to her Eternal Home at the age of 66. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin McCoy; mother, Jennie; and sisters, Arlene and Jennifer.
Doris leaves to mourn, her nephews, D’artagnan (Anise), and Michael Glenn; niece, Latoya (Samson) Ehichioya; special brother, Alexander Glenn; favorite cousin, Chaldean Harris; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.
