Dorothy Hawkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of Jehovah, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on March 11, 1938, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Addie Vaughn and Ezekiel Perkins, Dorothy was the youngest of eleven children, all of whom preceded her in death. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1962, where she built a life marked by faith, family, and service.

Dorothy married her loving husband, Malcurs Hawkins, on July 26, 1969. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, lasting until her passing. She is survived by Malcurs; her devoted son, Michael; cherished daughter-in-law, Christine; and treasured grandson, Jackson. Her legacy also lives on through innumerable nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends and spiritual family.

A proud graduate of Southern University, Dorothy earned an undergraduate degree in history. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1973 and served faithfully as a regular pioneer for over 30 years. Known for her quiet strength, mild manner, and deep spirituality, Dorothy studied the Bible daily and shared her knowledge and faith with dozens, touching countless lives through her example and encouragement.

Dorothy’s gentle presence and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including her extended family and the many members of her spiritual congregation.

Her life was a living testament to the values she held dear-faith, humility, and love for others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and spiritual dedication that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
