Dorothy M. Jackson was born March 2, 1933, in Lamison, Alabama to Rebecca Jackson and Willie Williams.
She moved to Cleveland, Ohio during her teenage years to live with her grandmother and was introduced to the Lord at an early age. Her grandmother would take her to church and read the Bible to her often. As a result, she gave her life to the Lord, and she chose to live her life with a strong faith in God. Everyone who met her felt the spirit of a Proverbs 31 woman; they would make comments that she was a fine lady and a woman of God.
Dorothy attended John Hay H.S. where she graduated and soon married her high school sweetheart Solomon Harge and from this union they had two beautiful children, Felicia Ann Harge, Solomon Harge Jr. and a granddaughter, Nakia Harge with whom there was a special bond. This was based on an affinity for cooking, watching sporting events and traveling.
Dorothy was employed at the Cuyahoga County Auditor’s office for several years before becoming a homemaker. She loved music, dancing, cooking, and shopping. She would always say that her grandmother was a good cook, and it was she who taught her. Dorothy received so much unconditional love from her grandmother, and she mirrored that same unconditional love to her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Solomon Harge, her parents Rebecca Jackson & Willie Williams, her brothers, Roosevelt Jackson, James Jackson, Leefield Jackson, Penney Jackson and Ronald Jackson.
To cherish her memory, Dorothy leaves her daughter, Felicia A Harge, son Solomon Harge Jr., granddaughter, Nakia Harge, and two sisters, Willette, and Johnette along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
