We were truly saddened to learn of Dr. Mann’s passing. She was like a mother to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our discussions with her on current events or our thoughts on books we read. Donna always made sure we were included in family celebrations. We hope that each of you will have peace as you remember the good times with your mother and grandmother. Sincerely, David and Anna Smith
Sandra Edmonds Crewe left a message on January 8, 2020:
The Howard University School of Social Work extends our sincere condolences to Mr. Richard Jones, NASW Social Work Pioneer, and the entire Manns family. Dr. Manns was a beloved member of our faculty 1976-1988 and was known for her excellence as a professor--she was described as a "teacher's teacher" by one of her former colleagues. Her integration of Black History into her teaching was one of her hallmarks. She influenced the professional practice of many Howard-prepared social workers. Rest in Peace. Sandra Edmonds Crewe, Dean Howard University School of Social Work
