He was an awesome husband and father. Dwight Ernest Williams went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2020, after fighting a long illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on Christmas Day, December 25, 1942, to Ernest H. and Thelma G. (Dandridge) Williams. He grew up in East Akron and graduated from East High School and McKim Technical Institute of Technology.
He retired from Summit County Environmental Services in 2012. He also worked for General Tire and Chrysler Corporation. He was a faithful member of Akron Alliance Church for many years, where he taught and attended Sunday School and served in the audio-visual department. He loved the Lord and he shared his faith with everyone he came into contact with.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest H. and Thelma G. (Dandridge) Williams, and brother-in-law, Wilfred Sanders Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vickie, and daughters, Michelle (Mark) Pillow and Danielle Williams-Thompson; close cousins, Jane (Joel) Hardin, Janice Craig, Harold (Eunice) Craig; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Melvin) Lewis, Alece (Jasper) Fambro, Linda (David) Wood and Robin Sanders; close nieces, Dionne Sanders, Deneen Sanders, and Kristen Sanders; special cousins, Emily Sewell and Mary Mitchell; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, too numerous to name. He loved them all and shared the gospel on every occasion.
