Dwight Edward Tuttle Sr., “King Tutt”, was welcomed into the world on August 1, 1954 in Richmond, Indiana by his parents, Marcus and Janice, along with older sister, Constance, and older brother, Niles.
As a child, Dwight accepted Christ into his life. As a teenager, he and his family moved to Cleveland. He was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, where he played basketball and football for Glenville, where he received his high school diploma. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army, where he fought in the Viet Nam War. While serving his time in the military, he came home to marry his high school sweetheart, Wanda Johnson. He later married Janice Latten.
After being discharged from the Army, Dwight returned to school to further his education. He received an Associate Degree in Business Administration and worked in various positions afterwards.
Dwight was an avid sports fan, with the Cleveland Browns and the Cavaliers being his favorites. He was always watching or talking about sports. In 2006, he became a member of Dunham Avenue Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor John D. Johnson. He was a member of the Christian Mens’ Fellowship.
On July 7, 2007, Dwight married Dequitta Ivery, with whom he shared many laughs, tears, good and bad times, sickness, and good health. After many years of different health issues, God called his son home on July 2, 2024.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dequitta; children, Dwight Jr., Marcus, Randy and Bridget; bonus children, Shawn’Drea, James and Anshawn; 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kimberly Harris and Jacquelynn Payne (Darrell); 1 brother, Robert Thompson (Victoria); 2 aunts, Frances Whittaker and Shirley Blake; 1 uncle, Willie Robinson; father-in-law, Juan McNeil (Anjess); 9 brother-in-laws, 7 sister-in-laws, 2 godsons; his 4 closest friends, Derrick Williams, Anthony Buckner, Courtney Napier and Bernard Makupson; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and his Dunham Church Family.
