Easter Mylinda Lowary Wallace was born in Albany, Georgia on Easter Sunday on April 4, 1926. She was the only child of Charlie Lowary and Lelar Howard Lowary. Easter received her education from the Dougherty County School District. She graduated from Dougherty County High School where she was on the school’s basketball team. Upon graduation she attended Albany State College majoring in Education.
She later married James Wallace and they had 3 children: Emma Jean Wren (Louis), Janice Moultrie (Rubin) and Barbara Ann Wallace Mathews. In 1951 the family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Over the years, Easter held many jobs from housekeeping to teaching in Dougherty County School System to bookkeeping for South Euclid Jewelers and LeGal’s Employment Agency. After retiring she was offered and accepted a position as an aide at Second New Hope Christian Academy. She later accepted a position as receptionist for Hair Solutions and Charles Oakley Limousine Service as well as receptionist for her grandson, Ken’s Property Management Company, which was the job she was most proud to hold.
Mother Wallace was outgoing, she never met a stranger. She enjoyed talking and interacting with people. If at any time you have had a conversation with her you know that her favorite topic was her children. She’d talk about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She was so proud of each of them and the accomplishments they have made and continuing to make. Mother Wallace also enjoyed working in her flower garden and sharing her vegetables from her vegetable garden with family and friends.
Mother Wallace loved her church which she was a member for over 60 years. In the church she served as the Chairperson of the Pastor’s Anniversary, Women’s Day Chairperson, she was on the Mother’s Board Ministry as well as serving as the Church Greeter for visitors until her health declined. She enjoyed following up their visit by sending a personal letter to each visitor, thanking them for worshipping with us.
Preceding her is death is her husband James Wallace and youngest daughter Barbara Ann. She leaves the following to carry on her legacy: her daughter Emma Wren, Son-in-law Louis Wren, daughter Janice Moultrie, Son-in-law Rubin Moultrie who was like a son, grandson Kenneth Moultrie, granddaughter Kimberly Moultrie, granddaughter Machelle Moultrie, great-grandson Braylon Moultrie and great-granddaughter Jrue Brundidge, goddaughter Wendy Bullock, godsons Anthony Allen and Markis Allen, special nieces Shirley, Nadine, and Larissa McKinney and lots of family and friends.
