Eddie Marion Green, affectionately known as “Ed OG,” was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on February 18, 1968. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Akron, Ohio, where he attended Akron Public Schools. Eddie graduated from Buchtel High School in 1987, where he was a part of the wrestling team and later joined the US Navy.

Eddie was employed at CC Supply as a welder for many years. In his free time, he loved to play dominos, chess, shoot pool, and fish.

Eddie passed away suddenly at 55 on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chenay Dubose-Green; his mother, Gloria “Gloomy” Ruth Green-Harrison; father, Frank Harrison; and sister, E’Quiana Dancy.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory: his four children, Tierra Butts-Green of Akron, OH, Davontae Ellies of Charlotte, NC, Bryson Green of Akron, OH, and Brielle Green of Akron, OH; father, Eddie Dancy Jr. of Akron, OH; sisters, Kimberly Green of Capital Heights, MD, Kristie Harrison of Akron, OH, and Sherri (Lavern) Bass; brother, Michael (Jada) Dancy; four grandchildren, Kory, Kylie, Akena, and Alana; special cousins, Marcus Green, Misty Green, and Melissa Green – all of Akron, OH; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
