Eddie Morrison Sr. was born the 2nd child to Ruther and Essie Lee Morrison on November 10, 1931, in Kemper County, Mississippi. He was raised in the Baptist Church.

After high school Eddie enlisted in The United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged. He moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with his uncle. Later, Eddie decided to move to Cleveland, Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Barbara Thornton. Eddie and Barbara were joined in holy matrimony on August 30, 1959. To this union four children were born. Eddie and Barbara enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

Eddie worked at Wabash Alloys for 43 years as a plant manager until retirement. Eddie loved his family, watching old western TV shows, traveling, going to the racetrack betting on horse races, and watching the Cleveland Guardians baseball on TV. Eddie was a true Guardians fan. He loved planting in his garden with his brother Leon every summer in his backyard and making homemade apple jelly. Eddie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eddie touched a lot of lives by helping family and friends. He was a true ” Southern Gentleman” and everyone was always welcome to his home.

Eddie departed this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Morrison; son Eddie Junior; parents Ruther and Essie Lee Morrison; sisters, Almeda Wooten, Aretha Millsap, Lucy Boose, and Ruby Hazel Edwards: brothers Rufus Morrison, Willie Morrison, and John Morrison.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters; Judith, Gina, and Joan (Malik); sisters, Alzater Hodges and Odessa Johnson; brother, Leon Morrison; grandchildren, Ashley White, Breale Ali, DeAndre Fomby, Anthony Murry, Jessica and Jasmine Morrison, Emanuel Morrison, and Josh Zeigler; 7 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
