Eddie Wilson Sr. was born September 20, 1946 to William and Elizabeth Humphrey in Cleveland, Ohio. Eddie attended trade school and graduated from Max Hayes High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Eddie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior and was baptized in the name Jesus Christ. Eddie’s Favorite scriptures was Psalms 91.
Eddie actively served as a Gunner’s Mate (Guns) Seaman in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Ticonderoga and served in Vietnam. He received the Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and served his country well and was honorably discharged.
Eddie was employed by Ford Motor Company in various roles for 41 years. He was known for having a keen eye for quality. This led to him receiving an excellence award from Ford Motor Company presented by Engine Plant 2. He had an enthusiastic nature and took interest in engineering and design thinking. He was an avid hunter and fisherman his love for the outdoors was met with many trips with friends and family. Eddie had a humble and caring nature and had a reputation for helping anyone who was in need.
Eddie went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2023 at Marymount Hospital. Eddie was preceded in death by his loving mother and father William and Elizabeth Humphrey who he adored. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Helen Wilson, his children, Donnell Wilson (Edithia), Lisa Griffin (Derek), Eddie Wilson Jr., Terran Wilson (Tamika). Grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron), Cornelious (India), Devon (Devyn), Shantell, Tyrell, Tamerran, Jamie, Mekhi, Derek Jr., Derrika, David Michael, Monai, Shakim, Lamar, Abry, Arianna. Thirteen great grandchildren, Kristian, Erin, Tori, Kamar, Lina, London, Cali, Cassius, Terri, Derek III, Mary Marie, Landyn, Olivia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other loved ones relatives and friends.
