Edith Viola Moore affectionately known to many as Edie was born September 18, 1950 in Price Hill, West Virginia. She was the fourth child of eight born to    Elbert and Rosa Jones.

Edith moved to Cleveland in 1968, She graduated from Cleveland Extension High School, where she completed her education with pride. She met the love of her life, Nathan Moore, at the age of 17. Their love story blossomed into a 49-year marriage, built on devotion and mutual respect. Together, they raised four daughters and were blessed with 12 grandchildren, creating a legacy of love and family that will endure for generations.

Edith was a nurturing and maternal woman who prioritized the needs of others. She ensured everyone felt comfortable and cared for, often through her love of cooking and her natural ability to provide warmth and support. Her selflessness was evident in the way she cared for children beyond her own and gave generously to those in need. Her unwavering compassion and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Edith worked as in home childcare provider for many years Devoting her time to many of children throughout the Cleveland heights neighborhood. From then she was gainfully employed from the mid 90’s and held the position of Suite Attendant Supervisor at Rocket Mortgage Field House, boasting a remarkable tenure of dedicated service.

Edith was a member of Central Bible Baptist Church, where she was baptized and participated in the church community. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she found strength and peace in her relationship with God.

Edith Moore is survived by her four beloved daughters: Tina Burnett (Christopher Burnett), Tia Moore, Tiffani Moore, and Tania Moore. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her 12 grandchildren: Khrystyna Cadet (Burnett), Khaylah Burnett, Hakim Benjamin Jr., Malik Williams, Jahmir Williams, Ahmed Williams, Harli Holland, Jada Kimbrough, Prince-Ryleigh Johnson, Royce Johnson, Randall Tate, and Raegan Tate.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ellesteen Walton, Michael Jones, and Nate Jones, along with her cherished in-laws, Harriet Taylor, Alice Dye, Bernard Moore Sr., Terry Anderson Evans, and Donna Jones.

Edith’s extended family included many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Annette Polk, Geraldine Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Mercedes Johnson, Garfield Johnson, Barbra Johnson, Natalie Jones, Bobbi Johnson, Craig Johnson, Jeron Jones, Michael Jones Jr., Erik and Derrick Jones, and Neal Jones Jr.

Her close friends, Robyn Cottingham and Rose Garrison, were a treasured part of her life and will miss her dearly.

She leaves behind a large and loving family, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
