EDWARD A. HEWITT was born June 13, 1931 in Sidneyville, Alabama to the late Joseph Williams & Daisy Hewitt. He passed away July 15, 2017. He was the oldest of 4 children. EDWARD A. HEWITT was born June 13, 1931 in Sidneyville, Alabama to the late Joseph Williams & Daisy Hewitt. He passed away July 15, 2017. He was the oldest of 4 children.
Edward’s greatest accomplishments came while working at Local 894 Labor Union. He was first a labor worker from 1955 until he became the Business Manager in November, 1974. He became President and retired in 1998. He had a total of 60 years of service. Edward also served in the U. S. Army with an honorable discharge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, George Hewitt, Mary Kate Whitherspoon and Frank Hewitt. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Martha H. Hewitt; brother-in-law, Robert Whitherspoon; nieces and nephews, Frank Hewitt Jr., Tony Hewitt, Edward A. Hewitt, David Hewitt, Joan Hewitt, Monica Hewitt, Jackie Hewitt, Rita (Reggie) Byers, Ricky Hewitt and family, Gary Hewitt and family; Penelope Whitherspoon; cousin, Mattie Turner; granddaughter, Lacrecia Pope and other relatives and many beloved friends.
