Today, this long after his death, I have learned of the passing of Curmie Price. I just want to share in the grief that can never be cooled by time. I was a student of his at Western Washington State College in Bellingham Washington. I have never forgotten his influence upon me. Looking him up relatively recently, I wrote to him to share with him the knowledge of his affect on me as a young woman. His inspired in me a lifelong quest to continue studying. Today I am saddened by his passing. I don't know if his loved ones will ever see my belated condolences. His light is carried inwards through all who loved him.

Robert Gooding-Williams left a message on May 3, 2021:
When I was growing up in Athens, Ohio, Curmie and my father, Ron Williams, became close friends. I still have vivid memories of Curmie and my father talking abut African American literature (Wtight, Ellison, and Baldwin), as well as other intellectual topics, at our beautiful family dining room table. My life long passion for the excitement that attends the life of the mind originated with those conversations, which I was privileged as a teenager to overhear.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

We are very saddened at the loss of our very great and longtime family friend, Curmie. As long as I can remember life, I’ve known Curmie. A very intellectual mind and artist who enjoyed and cherished his wife and children and family above all else. Many a good time we have had with Curmie and things will not be the same without him. May God’s Grace be with Peggy, Zachary, Edwin, and Curmie’s loving relatives at this most difficult time. We love you! Denise and The Websters

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Curmie. He was an amazing human being. Far beyond his knowledge, intellect, and wisdom, I will always remember his uncommon wit and sense of humor. We are all richer for having had him in our lives.
