Elder Watson, affectionately known as Buster, was born on March 12, 1940, in Vredenburg, Alabama. He was the oldest son that blessed the union of the late Humphrey Watson and Flora Mae (Toler) Watson.
Buster confessed his life to Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member in good standing with Affinity Baptist Church in Cleveland, OH for 20 years.
On March 3, 1967. Buster, then relocated to Cleveland, OH, and met his beloved Beulah Mae Jackson to this union they had three children and were blessed with a total of nine children. He began working at Huron Road Hospital. He later gained employment in 1973 with Trinidad Paving and became a union member of Local 860. Buster worked hard and mastered the trade of Asphalt Ranker. By him honing this craft and stepping out on faith, he quit his job, to start his own business. He & Beulah Mae financed their first Chevy pickup truck, and “Watson & Son Paving” was born. Over the years the business name changed to Accurate Pavers & Remodelers LLC. He has a stellar reputation with fellow business owners and City officials.
Buster loved to compete in the kitchen cooking with Beulah Mae. He loved to make collard greens, fried green cabbage, steak, pork chops, and steak smothered in onions and gravy, cornbread (the grandbabies used to say “Granddaddy can I have another piece of that Cake”), and he made the best dressing. He loved cooking for his entire family on Sundays and holidays. He is known for giving young adults the opportunity to work to earn money while on school break.
Buster enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas twice a year. He enjoyed the Racino (formerly Thistle Down Racetrack) for horse racing, he loved attending family reunions and any life event of the family. He especially loved the camaraderie with his brother, Lindsey, and sister, Julia, together they were the Three Amigos.
Elder “Buster” Watson of Macedonia OH formerly of Cleveland, OH, and beloved husband to Beulah Mae Watson of 47 years, transitioned home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the age of 82.
Buster was preceded in death by both parents, Humphrey and Flora Mae Watson; wife, Beulah Mae Watson; two sisters, Vivian Lowe, and Nellie Gray Bragg; one brother, Leonard Watson; three sons, David L Jackson, Terry King, and Michael King; one granddaughter, Shannon King; and one niece, Sherry Bragg.
Buster leaves behind to cherish his memories, children, Loretta King (Kasey), Marcella King Piazza, Dontasse R. King (Tracy), Carolyn Watson Hill, Tracye L. Watson, and Terneshier S. Jones; daughter-in-law, Tracie Brooks King; twenty-seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Lee Watson, Christine Miles (Cecil), and Julia Brown (Peter); two brothers, Humphrey Watson, and Lindsey Longmire (Sennie).
In addition, Buster’s life was also enveloped by the loving acts displayed by his honorary son, Donald Anderson, and his honorary daughter, Sylvia Figueroa.
