Elizabeth Louise Belton was born on October 30, 1943, in New York City, New York to the late Richard and Hattie Fain. She spent a lot of time with her grandmother, Artie Fain, who was an evangelist/missionary worker with the Pentecostal Church of New York City. In 1952, the Fain family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she attended and graduated from the Cleveland Public Schools.
Elizabeth worked 20 years at Cook United Distributors (later renamed Boston Distributors) located in Maple Heights, Ohio. She retired from the company in 1992 to be caretaker for her mother, Hattie Fain, and later her favorite uncle, Clarence Fain.
In 1959, Elizabeth met Robert Belton and married him a year later on September 15, 1960. They were married for 60 years until the passing of Robert Belton in May 2021. To this union five daughters were born: Danita, Deidre, Angela, Adrienne, and India.
Elizabeth and her late husband Robert Belton were members of Damascus Road Ministries, Cleveland, OH, under the pastoral of Pastor Grady Stevenson.
In her spare time, she enjoyed various activities: home decorating, sewing, making pillows and floral arrangements, gardening, and gathering photos for her many picture albums. In addition, she had a love for cooking and hosting holiday meals. Her creativity, passion, and talent for these things were passed onto her daughters.
Elizabeth had several nicknames affectionately given to her over the years, “Sugar Mama, Auntie Annee and Little Lou”. She also loved giving what she called “neck sugar” and calling our friends by nicknames which she gave them. Elizabeth had a special love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Elizabeth leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish her memory: Daughters, Danita (Keith) Smith, Deidre Murray (Robin, deceased), Angela Belton, Adrienne (Carlo) Parnell, and India Belton.
