Elmer R. Fisher was born in Akron, OH to the late Louis and Anna (Ruffin) Fisher. He was educated in the Akron Public School System. He worked at the United States Postal Service and other various jobs. He also served in the United States Airforce. He was a member of the American Legion Post 272, as a former commander, and the VFW post 3618, as a former commander.
He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was married to the late Esther L. Fisher for over 30 years.

Elmer departed this life on September 1, 2021. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Carolyn S. Fields; siblings, Ann Elizabeth Moore, Lillian Fisher, Ruth (Jakes) Rice, Louis Fisher, Elenora Fisher and Margaret Fisher.
H leaves to cherish his memory grandchildren, Esther (Fields) Love, Kevin (Nakita) Fields, and Terrance (Tyria) Fields; great-grandchildren, Derrick (Christian) Chatman, Jermaine (Tierra) Love, Terrance Fields Jr., Rayniere (Debra) Ruff, Essence Love, Michael (Corinne) Carr, Jaelyn Fields, Jadah Fields, Ja`Nayah Gates, Cha`Krya Fields, Kevin Fields Jr., Ke`vel Fields, Raquel Williams, Tori Fields and Tyler Fields; great-great-grandchildren, Elianna, Marcus, Christian, My’Asia, My-Kalia, My-Angle, Sincere, Derrick, Jamila, Jermaine, Apollo, Journi as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
