Eloise was born January 22, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the second child born to Harold and Doris Marie East. She received her education through Cleveland Public Schools. Eloise was a member of Cedar Temple Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as her savior.
Eloise became employed as a teenager at Mt. Pleasant Barbecue and was everyone’s favorite waitress. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Lawrence; the two were married for 53 years. To that union, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Aretha Marie. Eloise also worked at Metro Health and then went on to Harborside Healthcare where she would later retire.
Eloise really got a kick out of barbecuing; she hosted a yearly fish fry with family and friends. She was a very spiritual woman who loved Jehovah and was fond of attending weekly bible studies. On weekends, she loved having movie night with her close family. She was fun, energetic, and the type of person who meant what she said and said what she meant. Eloise had a laugh that you could hear for miles. She really enjoyed life and was a wonderful spirit. Eloise was most proud of her daughter’s accomplishments and of her granddaughter, Lawren.
Eloise transitioned from this life on November 10, 2022, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Doris East, and sister, Aretha.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence; her daughter, Aretha Marie; granddaughter, Lawren Hines; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
