Born June 18, 1940, in Clayton, Alabama, Eloise “Tu-wee” was born the sixth of ten children to Howard and Lou Ethel Henry. The family relocated to Detroit, Michigan, and lastly, Akron, Ohio became her home where she met and married Lonnie Twyman. Together they raised three children.
Affectionately known as “Nana”, Mother Twyman was a devoted homemaker. She was all about family and was an excellent cook. Living for the Lord was her life. She was a former member of Saints Temple under the leadership of the late Ellis McKenzie. She had a strong faith and this was exemplary in her everyday living. Until her health began to decline, church and fellowshipping was her passion.
Mother Twyman departed this life on to her Heavenly home, July 20, 2024. She is now reunited with her parents, sister, Elizabeth Shephard, of Georgia; brothers, Howard, Melvin and James Henry; brothers-in-law, James, William, Lovell, Frank, Jr., Oliver, and Willie Twyman; sisters-in-law, Lillian E. Lewis and Myrtle Peters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted daughter, Wendy E. Twyman; sons, Jeffrey A. (Dorothy) and Apostle David (Stacey) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; grandchildren, Fallon, Jeffrey Jr., David, Donte, Danay, and Montel; great-grandchildren, Amarie, Ameir; brothers, John and Charles Henry, of Michigan; sisters, Annitha Lee, of Akron, Willetta Chambliss, and Ethel Lou Webb, both of Michigan., and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; extended family, goddaughter, with whom she reared from birth, Pastors Lynnette (Stacey) Jenkins; god-grands, Ashley, Bryson, and Marten Jenkins, all of Akron; close friends, Wilma Worthy, of Alabama, Angela Mosley, of Akron, and Mable McGee, of Nashville.
