Emma Anna Ruth Thomas, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2022.
Emma Thomas was born in Union County North Carolina which to most is truly known as Waxhaw in 1943 to the late David Sr and Elnora Robinson. In addition, preceding her in death, four Brothers David Jr, William Arthur, Gilbert, Larry and one sister Darlene Reeves.
In 1944 the family moved to Cleveland Ohio in the Miles Heights Lee Road area. Emma was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. After completing her education, she worked at St John’s College in the food service department, then switched over to Cleveland State University where she retired after an illustrious career of 45 years of service.
Through this career a bond was formed by four women who called themselves work sisters or simply (Sis)that cannot be broken even in death. Marie(deceased), Virginia (deceased) and Gloria known as Vanderbilt.
She met the love of her life in 1959 and they were United in holy matrimony in 1964, to this Union seven children were born.
She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Tree of Life Church in 1973. Through her dedication and love of the Lord she was appointed to the status deaconess.
She loved helping and would give her last to anyone. Her generosity was shown through her compassion of others by feeding and giving hugs. Emma’s smile was so inviting that it would warm the coldest of hearts.
Emma truly loved family and would spend countless hours playing skip-bo with her brothers Robert, Leonard, and occasionally James Lester.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband (Robert Sr.) also no mother should ever have to endure such pain but to this list goes three children and two grandchildren Sheila Robinson, Kimberly, and Maliek. Grandchildren India Washington and Cara Bryant.
Emma’s heartfelt Legacy of Goodwill is left to continue by her four children Lynn Tufts (John) ,Robin-Maria, Carla Jones (Kenyon Sr) Robert Jr (Lashon). As well as three brothers James, Robert and Leonard.
Eighteen grandchildren Twenty-four great grandchildren and a host of nieces/nephews, family, and friends.
