In the early spring with the sun beaming brightly, God in His profound wisdom blessed the late John and Vinnie Lee Wilborn with a beautiful baby girl, who was named Emma Louise. She was born March 29, 1933, at 7:00 p.m. in Clayton, Alabama, the second child into a family of six children from this union.
God canvassed His garden and knew it was time for an extraordinary flower to be added. So, He called his unique and wonderfully made child home Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 3:07 pm while enveloped by her beloved family.
Emma attended Barbour County School District in Clayton Alabama. She accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. After marriage, her family relocated to Ohio in 1956, and has been an Ohioan for sixty-six years. Emma united with Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Hubert Powell until her demise.
She was employed with Lawson/Schwebel’s Bakery Company after thirty-plus years of service, she was blessed to retire.
This Queen was a wife of one man, and a devoted mother to her children! Emma and Otis McNabb Jr. united as one on November 23, 1947, and were married for seventy-four years. From this union, they were blessed with eight children, five girls, and three boys. Emma loved vanilla ice cream because it made her “tummy” happy. She loved so many things, if she touched it, she mastered it! Emma was a seamstress, and loved to crochet Afghans for her new grands, great-grands, and many others, as well as crafts, and baking! She is the Queen of Word Searches. One of God’s gifts was singing, she loved ministering to his people in song. WHAT A TIME, WHAT A TIME, if God doesn’t do anything else, he’s done enough! She sang in the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church choir and with Gerald D. Johnson Christian Love Community Singers. Emma enjoyed family time on every given opportunity to love on her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis McNabb Jr., her parents, one sister, three brothers, and a granddaughter.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving and devoted children, Emma J Andrews, Jewel (Matthew) Thomas, Christine Stallworth, Barbara (Roger) Lee, all of Ohio, Catherine (Virgil) Durham (California), Larry (Erica) McNabb, Dywayne (BJ) McNabb, all of Ohio, and Otis C. (Carlene) McNabb(Georgia); She leaves one loving and devoted sister, Annie R. Graham (Michigan) and a stepsister, Janet (KC) King (Alabama). Also, she leaves thirty (30) grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a village of loving people who will miss her dearly…..Until We Meet Again
