Erettia Gaines born November 8, 1954, to the late Leonard and Flossie Gaines in Detroit Michigan then moving to the small town of Twinsburg Ohio at a young age where she attended and completed her formal education.
Erettia being born into a family that loved to dance, and her being known for her creative dancing moves since childhood, you had better believe, if a party was going on that her and a family member, if not all of them were bound to be seen on the dance floor. Even if that meant sneaking out of the house! To family she had many nick names most referring to as Ret/Rat because she only snacked and nibbled at her food. Rettia or Ms. Fix-it she was sure to find a way to break something down and put it back together.
Kids by her side Rettia took her last breath on Thursday morning October 16, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Flossie Gaines; grand-daughter Ayanna Lee; sisters Mary Helen Pou, Eva Mae Dorman & Betty Jean Jenkins; brothers Ernest Gaines, Leonard Gaines, Arthur Gaines & Andrew McDonald; brother n laws Joel Pou, Fred Dorman & Bedile Goldsmith; son n law Yusuf Ali; nieces Cherry Mae Pou, Shadae Dorman & Michelle King; nephews Billy Joe Pou, Linderek Dorman, Leonard Hollis & Eugene Gaines; and special friend Dimitrias J Miles.
