On June 28,1960 Bailey and Betty Little’s union celebrated the birth of Eria LaFaye “Fancy” Little at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Eria attended Anthony Wayne Elementary, Audubon Middle and graduated as a hornet from John Hay High School in the year of 1978. Fancy spent her youth managing the home until she began her most honored role as a mother. Fancy welcomed her first child Kristian with Paul into this world just one day after her birthday in 1986. She received the blessing of her son Dartanyan with William in 1992. She went on to work with City Year as a Community Health Worker briefly. Fancy and Jack officially blended their families in holy matrimony in September of 2009.
Throughout her life Fancy shared her love for others with her cooking. She became well known as an unofficial grill master and without a doubt if you smelled the grill it was most likely Fancy, if you heard music you knew it was her. There wasn’t anything Fancy wouldn’t grill at least once including pizza. Fancy loved life and filled it with laughter as she was known to crack a joke or two. Fancy loved to shop for anything really but enjoyed putting together an outfit for whatever the occasion.
Fancy loved live music festivals and frequented them whenever she could. She enjoyed the likes of Anita Baker to Shirley Caesar to Tupac. Fancy would go along for a road trip in a heartbeat and was a phenomenal co-pilot with snacks at the ready and great music in rotation. Fancy made miracles happen for her children during holidays and birthdays and created an atmosphere of love and excitement on a budget. Even with the cancer and dementia battling her from within, she was concerned about her children’s well-being until the very end.
Eria has been welcomed into eternity by her parents Bailey and Betty and bonus son Johntaz Sr. She is survived by husband Jack, daughter Kristian, son Dartanyan, bonus sons Jerry, Jawaun and Jack Jr, grand daughters Loyal (Danielle) and Dar’Rihanna, bonus grandchildren Tamariyah, Jeri’aye, Johntaz Jr., Muriel, Natalya, Iris, William and Tristan, sister Tracie (nephews Marclin & Bishop), Landon and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, loved ones and friends.
