My deepest and sincere condolences to the family of my death friend Eric Moten, who I have the opportunity to get to know at Michigan State University. Eric was a couple years younger than me and I remember fondly when he came to East Lansing. Always one of the nicest guys off the field, he was a tough competitor once he took the field. I will remember all the good times we had and will miss my friend!!
My condolences to the family of my friend and colleague, Eric Moton. Eric would often have morning coffee with probation officers at his office where we talked about sports, humor and issues of the day. Truly good times which will be missed. May the memories of Eric be of comfort to the Moton family and may his soul rest in everlasting peace in the Kingdom of Heaven. Thank you for your friendship, Eric.
Sending condolences to the family from the Hatten family. We grew up on Caledonia, and went to school with Eric. - on the Noble end and I am a part of the class of 86 as well. Hi Camille and daughters, I'm so sorry to hear about Eric. I didn't know him well but I'll never forget the kind act he did for my son. He, your mom and Carolyn came over to our home one evening in Flint, so my son got his picture taken with Eric when he played for the Charges. This meant the world to our family. I met Eric, E, E Mote while he was in training at the Probation Department. Over these years we all shared many, many good memories. A true co-worker/family friend. Camille, Ash, Lexi and Paige you all were his EVERYTHING. There was not a day that went by that he did not speak of you all. I will definitely miss the morning coffee conversation sessions. You were good to everyone and will be truly missed. I am so thankful for your friendship over these years.

I met Eric when I started coaching his daughter in basketball. He always was a calm good, giant of a person. We would talk sports and especially after a Browns loss....LOL.... I was shocked when I heard of his passing and at a relatively young age. My prayers to the family. RIH Eric.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Today I grieve the loss of my teammate Eric Moten. I don't know youwhy but today it became real. I played with him the longest of my 15 years. I had a front row seat to his explosiveness on the field and his unmatched courage against any opponent. God in his mercy afforded us an ability to tap into the pain from our past as a fuel. That kinda fuel doesn’t work for one’s good off the field. But fuel nonetheless. I miss Eric Moten. Forgive me father for not being a better friend to Eric, E Mote, the strongest and realest and bravest of them all, oh how I wish I could be as strong and sure and blunt as E Moten! I honor him today and I will honor his life, accomplishments and the legacy he leaves behind in those he loved, parented, provided for, spoke to, lifted up and influenced for their good. Thank you Lord for making him my teammate and friend at a pivotal time in our lives. Love you E. In Jesus name.
Unbelievable loss of a great man. A Mentor and all around good guy! Condolences to the entire family. His presence will be missed in the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.
Camille, you have my deepest sympathy. I can only imagine what you are feeling at this time. Even though I haven't seen Eric since our Michigan State days, I remember him being a lot of fun and how he cared about you so much. May God give you and your children the strength to endure the pain of losing such a great person. Cherish all the memories when you start to get sad, just remember all the love you shared.
Eric, was a great competitor and teammate. He was even a better person. Big E had an infectious smile. Our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.. RIp Eric you will be missed!
God Bless

My sister and I visit them in California for the summer and we were out shopping for my cousin, bday and Eric was taking all over and cross the street and drop my paper boyyyyy he scared me straight. He told me I was going to jail lol California laws was very strict about jay walking and littering, he picked me up ran me back in middle of traffic to pick it up I didn’t want to go jail lol. My heartfelt condolences to all who loved Eric, To my cousin Camille, I love you.
Eric “Big E” was such a presence at the Probation Department. I always looked forward to seeing him when he came over to visit just to chat with all of us. He always knew what to say and always put a smile on everyone’s face. He was real, respected by all and always said what was on his mind, which I always appreciated. He will missed beyond measure. The Probation Department will not be the same, as he was a shining light among us.
My deepest sympathies to his wife, daughters, family and friends. My heart goes out to all of you during this difficult time. There are no words, just know that you are surrounded by love.
Eric will always have a special place in my heart. I am old enough to be his mother and proud enough to know how she and his entire family felt. A very special man. I always felt joy when speaking to him.. Eric thanks for the memories.
Please accept my deepest condolences for the family's loss. Eric touched so many lives and he will be missed. Sending love and comfort during this difficult time. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. R.I.P my coworker/my friend.
I lost a brother recently 5 days ago,
When I got the text,
If felt like the fall visioning a world without gravity,
I mean damn,
He was as real as it gets,
Man-talk & crazy day conversations ended with no regrets,
The universe forming stars & black holes pulling in everying in it's wake,
His wisdom overstood you, made you firm & focused so you don't break,
This brother stood with you 100 times out of 99,
Super exceedingly support like titanium in your spine,
But it was a message in everything we shared,
Like me being younger in the Boy Scouts motto "Be Prepared",
In every hug, pulling you to my chest to embrace you,
I knew one day I would lose you,
That same embrace I know you overstood you may lose me,
We knew conscious or unconsciously,
Like the theory of relativity,
We spoke of my days of being hurt, burned, hated & almost coming to our end,
Yet we stood over our enemies subliminally & fearlessly,
It hurts bad brother & I don't know if I'm sad,
I do know this deep pain is knowingly I lost one of the best brothers I ever had,
I lived decades of losing people all my life,
Unlike the sharpness I couldn't feel when stabbed,
It makes me cold as the pain of a dull knife,
I realize life has within it love, hardships & loss,
And I can't keep you at any cost,
I need to walk this dark path & atone,
I've been through tragedies & pain but saved hundreds,
But in the end, it's me against the world having to walk this path alone!
To my Brother Eric Moten, until that day Brother, until that day!
Eric was the kindest most generous coworker who put a smile on everyone's face.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
I got to know Eric over the last several years while working the probation department. We shared the love of coffee and he would always offer me some of his brew. Such a generous person and someone I'm glad to have known in this life.
Rest easy, Eric.
Prayers of comfort sent for the family and friends. Eric was a friend to all, he will be missed dearly.
Rest in peace my friend
Big Moten you will truly be more missed . Helmsdale Raider 4Life I remember you and Rob took me to my 8th grade graduation at Kirk jr high because my mom had to work that morning. When you were drafted you let my brother Jr..stay with you for a while in California and when you retired you would come by on Sundays and watch the Browns game... Going 😭 to Miss you RIH BIG E
My condolences to Eric Moten's wife Camille, his daughters, and entire host of family and friends. Eric was a huge presence at work and was always in the same big personality spirit for all the years I have known him. He kept the morale up at the Probation Department for all those that came across him, and didn't mind saying whatever was on his mind. His office was a gathering spot and he walked the halls greeting and joking with colleagues like a team coach. He was the go to for coffee, sports talk, current events, lunch, or going out on pay Fridays for a few "pops." It was his line, "I got you Big Time," that sums up his giving and caring personality. There won't be another Big E like Eric Moten, who I always called The Principal of the Justice Center! You have new halls to walk now.
Rest in Heaven friend,
"Detective" Angie Bryant
Eric was a great Teammate and mentor during the time we were at Michigan State together.
