Ernestine Hughes age 71, passed away on February 3, 2018.
Ernestine Belser-Hughes was the eldest of two daughters born to Ernest and
Arthur Mae (Brown) Belser in Montgomery, Alabama on May 31, 1946. She was the darling of her parents, and nurtured and dotted on by her late uncle and aunt Jimmie and Lemon Lee (Huffman) Brown.
Ernestine was known for her attention to aesthetics inclusive of interior decor and her personal style. She was an impeccable beauty with a unique an infectious ‘giggly’ laugh, a wonderful sense of humor and never lacked in wanting to hear the details of a story that was funny with just a tidbit of gossip—all while being delighted but never destructive. She never faltered in her devotion to God, to her family, and to those she loved. Her loving heart was an endearing factor and too, provides understanding as to who she was and how she required of every one in her presence to be loving and most of all respectful. She didn’t tolerate disrespect nor back talk. She didn’t allow bad language or vulgar conversations. She didn’t want negative indulgences to be a part of her atmosphere. She did appreciate the art of the beautiful. She rewarded loyalty and invested in beauty, she did accentuate her assets without apology: Ernestine knew she was pretty and so did all who encountered her. She was a queen and was the embodiment of all that was poured into her from her many aunts, uncles, cousins and family.
Her legacy was in knowing her assets and making them work. It is a testimony of using what God has given to you to its fullest.
She was honored in life and enjoyed many years surrounded by her devoted sister, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and family. God chose her transition into eternity on
February 2, 2018.
