Estella Finch, affectionately known as “Stella”, earned her heavenly wings and departed this world on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Born on October 29, 1934, to Thomas and Melissa Finch in Demopolis, AL., Estella loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She graduated from John Essex High School in Demopolis, Alabama and later moved to Akron, Ohio to be with her favorite aunts, Jannie Dowdell and Mary Jones.

Estella was a devoted member of True Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board under the ministry of Bishop Charles Parmer.

She worked hard as a domestic worker until she became disabled and could no longer perform her duties. She was a devoted cousin and a second mother to many.

Estella loved working in the garden and growing flowers, plants and vegetables. She had a plant in every window in her home and on every level, including the attic.

She loved living and was always the life of the party. She also loved to dance and tell jokes, and kept us laughing with her stories. She had an excellent memory, a beautiful spirit and was loved by all.

Estella was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Melissa Finch; her husband, William England; her brothers, Joseph Finch, Thomas Finch, Charles Finch, Robert Finch and her sister, Abbie Robinson.

She leaves many to cherish her loving memory and beautiful life, including Mammie Westbrook, Virginia King (Edward), Sam Finch,  Isaiah Finch and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
