Ethel Jean was born in Detroit, MI on January 24, 1938 and Ethel received her call to the Kingdom of God on the 4th of July 2023.

Ethel confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized into the fellowship of Morning View Baptist Church. Later, she enjoyed an active membership at Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church.  She was currently worshipping at Imani Christian Center.

Ethel always enjoyed family first but an occasional casino game, traveling, talk shows, latest celebrity news was always welcome!  Her two ears were always ready to listen, and she offered honest and blunt words of wisdom.  She never met a stranger and her spirit always reminded people of someone they loved. We will remember her cunning wit, her beauty inside and out, her warm embrace, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Upshaw; two sisters, Ollie Upshaw and Shirley Stewart.  She leaves to celebrate her entrance into the Kingdom her loving husband, William J.; daughter, Jeanean; son, Kevin (Stacey); brother, Gary Bradford; grandchildren: Lauren, Devin (Dominiquea), Audra, Nia, Jacob and Samantha, great-grandchildren: Mia, Azura and Islah; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
