It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Harrison, who left this world peacefully at the age of 88. Born on December 21, 1935, in Adel, Georgia, to her loving parents, Samuel and Essie Robinson, Ethel’s life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and dedication to others. A beloved member of Bethel Baptist Church, Ethel’s deep-rooted spirituality guided her throughout her life, offering comfort and support to those around her.
Ethel chose a career of caring, serving as a nursing assistant with compassion and devotion. She married the love of her life, John Henry Harrison, with whom she shared a beautiful union that lasted decades. Their love was a constant light that touched everyone around them. Though John has long since passed, we find peace in knowing they are reunited in Heaven, resting peacefully together.
A woman of many interests and passions, Ethel was a proud member of the Eastern Star Mary Chapter #47OES Past Patron, El Zerubbabel Court #5, HOJ, Most Ancient Matron, Al Kaf Court 144 Past Ill. Commandress, member Bezaleel Assembly #19 Order of the Golden Circle, where she found a sisterhood of like-minded women dedicated to service. She extended her love for others through her tireless volunteer work—whether at Dan Street, the women’s board at the juvenile court, the joyful seniors’ group, or with her dear friends in the Red Hat Society. Ethel was a true pillar of her community, always finding ways to spread love, joy, and support.
Ethel’s home was a sanctuary of warmth and love. Her family treasures the memories of gathering around her dinner table on Sundays and holidays, where she welcomed all with open arms, a warm smile, and a heart full of love. Her kitchen was a place where laughter filled the air, stories were shared, games were played, and bonds were strengthened.
She leaves behind three devoted daughters, Beverly Hale, Darlene Edgerson, and Linda Harrison, who carry her spirit and grace in their hearts. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Lucille Dent; her grandchildren, Damon Harrison, Tanisha Linley, Kandice Edgerson, Brandon Edgerson, and Jasmine Harrison; and great-grandchildren, Martina, Heaven, Diamond, Richon, Brandon (II), Alexa, Marissa, Kain, and Gavin who all brought her joy and pride. Ethel will also be remembered fondly by her loving in-laws, Michael and Sylvia Harrison, who held a special place in her heart.
Ethel’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. While we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart that gave unconditionally, and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, dear Ethel. Heaven is now blessed with your presence.
