Eugene Brewer, Jr., the eldest of eight children, was born to the late Eugene, Sr. and Nancy Brewer in Fayette County, Tennessee. In 1957, the Brewer Family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio.
Eugene completed his education in the Tennessee Public School System and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Upon completion of High School, Eugene was employed with Euclid General Hospital, Gould, and other various manufacturing companies. Eugene served over twenty years with General Electric where he retired.
Eugene accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized at the Williamson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, formerly known as Tuckerβs Chapel in Fayette County, Tennessee. He later became a devoted and faithful member of the Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Dr. E. T. Caviness. Eugene loved his church and attended faithfully until his illness.
At age 24, he married Alma Artis. To this union two children were born, Debra and Dianne.
On January 22, 2007, Eugene was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, his soulmate, Regina Youngblood. Eugene and Regina were inseparable. During their 17 years of marriage, they both found an everlasting love, fulfilled with friendship, joy, and companionship. To this union one child was born, Christopher.
Eugene enjoyed being a father and was so proud of his children. He always spoke so fondly of his children and wanted the best for them and gave very good life advice. He encouraged his family to always do their best and was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. Eugene was the happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his siblings, family, and friends. He also enjoyed watching professional sports and was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Equally, Eugene loved shopping as demonstrated by his fashion style. He was a giving person which included donating to various Charities which he supported.
Eugene fought a good fight, kept the faith, and finished his course, and the Lord called him home to rest on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene, Sr., and Nancy; four brothers, Thomas, James, Calvin, and Johnny; two sisters, Barbara and Lazell; and a sister-in-law Mamie.
