Eujonia Miesha May affectionately known as Genny was born on March 6, 1980 in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. She was born to the late Agatha Woodard (Wesley Woodard) and Lamont Porter Sr. This was a special birth for Agatha and Lamont because their precious Eujonia was a twin, and she entered this world with her brother Deleon “Day Day” May.
If you know like I know as with most twins, these two shared a powerful bond that even in death will never be broken. Genny accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church of Tomorrow under the leadership of the late Pastor Edward McKnight. Genny grew up in Banbury Village where she became known as “Genny on the block” or “Gen & Juice”. Genny built relationships with many people whom became family to her. Genny graduated from Warrensville Heights High School in 1998 where she played on the girls’ basketball team for the Warrensville Heights Tigers.
After high school she attended Cuyahoga Community College, where she studied Auto Tech and other interests. Genny was the life of the party and a great friend to all who knew her. She was a free spirit, funny and loyal, but she also had a smart mouth and a mean streak. To know her was to love her and to be in her presence was always a blessing. Her zest for life allowed her to seize every opportunity, step out on faith, love, and take chances.
In 2000 Genny met her best friend and lifelong partner of 24yrs
Dion Oulds. These two were inseparable and together they welcomed their son Dionte Oulds on July 20, 2007. Genny referred to Dionte as her “righthand”. She was an amazing, loving and caring mother, who was extremely proud of her only child. She was also very big on family and friends; her love and loyalty ran deep, as she always made herself available to anyone who called upon her, even while facing her own life challenges. Genny was a Cleveland Sports fan at heart. She enjoyed the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Browns. She also loved going to games and watching crime shows. TV was her favorite pass time, but she also kept one in the air and a glass raised.
Genny had a passion for cars, rims, and sounds. She was also into fashion and stayed up to date with the latest trends, shoes, jewelry, and shades. Manic Vanity was her favorite to wear, if you know, you know. Genny worked in various industries, including a warehouse where she was a tow motor and CNC operator. Interstate Mcbee became her longtime employment where she gained a ton of close friends. She was always willing to learn and was never afraid to take chances and start something new. Genny excelled in every venture she took on. In 2020 Genny was diagnosed with cancer and although it came with many difficult struggles she never gave up or stopped smiling. She remained thankful and blessed during this 4-year battle. While Genny fought a hard but great battle, she entered eternal rest on June 27, 2024.
Left to celebrate Genny’s beautiful life is her partner Dion Oulds, their son Dionte Oulds, her father Lamont Porter Sr, siblings Maurice Norman Sr (Benette Norman), Karlos Norman, Latier May (Shawneta May), her twin brother Deleon May, Lamont Porter Jr, Rayna Woodard, Erica Woodard, Eric Woodard (Tawana Woodard). Nieces Krystina Ford, Shanatea Norman, Deion Knuckles, Deleona May, and Jayla May. Nephews Maurice Norman Jr, Lamont Norman, Lamont Porter III, Dearteon Porter, Deleon May Jr and Lavell Porter. A host of cousins, friends, and neighbors as well as a multitude of people whose lives are forever changed just by knowing Genny.
Preceding her in death are her loving mother Agatha Woodard, Step father Wesley Woodard and Her Brother Lawrence “Deon” Norman.
