Evelyn Thelma Jean Frazier Seals went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday Jan 17, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Evelyn was born in Plainview, Oklahoma to the late L.C. Frazier and Bernice Brewer on July 27, 1941. She was the eldest of twelve brothers and sisters and was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ann Bolton, and two brothers Ernest “Ray” Frazier and Thomas “Tommy” H. Peters.
Evelyn accepted Christ and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist church and in her adult years she was an active member of United Missionary Baptist church.
Evelyn relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in the early sixties with her daughter where she met and married her soul mate, the love of her life, and life partner Dwight Seals on January 13, 1966. Evelyn was married to Dwight for 58 years and together they were an inseparable and dynamic team.
Evelyn started her working journey at St. Vincent Charity Hospital, worked at Virden Lighting, Gould until they moved over seas and finished at Venture Lighting until her eyesight prevented her continuing to work and finally retired. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, her recipes were always sought after, sewing, and making quilts. She had fun days visiting local Casinos, the house always lost when she arrived, and loved working in the community gardening or in her back yard. But along with all her other endeavors she loved to travel, visiting new locations and family. She affectionately recalls to all, her travel to Egypt and being Baptize again in the Jordan River. She enjoyed family and Family reunions were an exceptionally large part of her traveling experiences. Once you became a part of her family you were in for the ride of your life. Just ask Al and Evelyn Jenkins or Pat Respert. Evelyn always wanted to know more, and she was always learning and exploring. She was a loving, caring, and giving lady and if needed she could also get you “Told” if needed! Evelyn loved fashion, her clothing and hats always made a statement wherever she went in Life.
Evelyn leaves behind to celebrate her legacy, her beloved husband Dwight Seals, loving daughter Cynthia D. Calhoun (William) of Virginia Beach, VA., cherished granddaughters Tiffany N. Clemons (Corinthian) of Lorton, VA., Brittany D. Calhoun of Atlanta, Ga., and a great granddaughter Zanovia “ShugaBabe” B. Clemons of Lorton VA.
