With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Evelyn W (Mixon) Herring, age 93, on January 2nd, 2025, at her home in Lyndhurst, Ohio. She is survived by daughters, Diana (Henry) England, Ph.D and Judi Williams; brothers Roy Mixon (Geraldine, deceased), George (Marilyn) Mixon, and Edward Hyde; grandchildren, Qiana and Alex Woodard along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by husband James C. Herring, and brother Clarence W. Mixon, Ph.D.

The family will receive family and friends at the Memorial Service on January 25, 2025, at St Mark’s Presbyterian Church located at 22111 Chagrin Blvd, Beachwood OH 44122 at 11am. Inurnment Immediately following. Highland Park Cemetery 21400 Chagrin Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44122

We met Evelyn at our High Vista Community in Florida. She was a valuable member of the Community'Christian Church held in our community with our local pastors. A fashionable lady with a different hat every Sunday. Her well known phrase for all, “I’m Blessed and so are you.” She was loved and will be missed.

Hear Our Prayer O Lord for my beloved and dear friend Diana England and all of the Mixon- Herring families. Your mom was a sweetie pie! We saw each other daily in the Korb Lounge Hallway in the East Cleveland City Schools. Quiet, reserved, and full of wisdom. For her to have raised such incredible children who also were purposed to serve others. speaks volumes on a life well lived! Sending love to all from Griffin, Ga. God is with you today, tomorrow and forever. May Blessings be upon you during this difficult time.
