Faneia was soft spoken. Often carrying herself more maturely than her years. That’s partially because Faneia lost her mother at just 11 years old and was then raised by her Grandma Fannie. However, Faneia always had a youthful spirit.
Faneia enjoyed shopping, always looking for treasurers at Ross and Walmart. New restaurants and recipes found on TikTok were shared with excitement. Faneia had an appreciation for music. Listening to different genres. For those who know, Project Pat “Mista Don’t Play” was her favorite.
Faneia had family and friends whose role in her life transcended titles. Faneia shared a special closeness with Auntie Cookie (Cousin Joan Largent) and even in her last moments she wanted to be sure that Auntie Cookie would be taken care of. As Auntie Cookie affectionally called herself Faneia’s “Ride or Die” . Kia (Sister-Cousin Takia Daniel) and Faneia were born 10 months apart. Both named after Grandma Fannie, they shared unique names given to them by Cousin Tan (Denise Seals) and a special bond as each other’s first sisters that continued to the end. Ramone, a classmate and childhood friend since 6 years old. Faneia and Ramone lovingly fussed with each other often, and to have the last word, Faneia decided to leave this life on his birthday. Shanita, Faneia’s BFF and “twin”. Shanita and Faneia met in college and instantly became a dynamic duo!
Faneia talked about being somewhere warm every year for her birthday. Finally, this year for her 50th, Faneia went to Cancun and treated herself royally. Butler service, cabanas, room service and parties. Faneia was living the life that she always wanted and was planning to do more of it. Faneia’s next planned destination was Jamaica, and she will be there too.
She was preceded in death by Frank Jackson (Father), Cynthia “Peaches” Session-Thornton (Mother), Fannie “Grandma Fannie” Phelps (Grandmother), Ann “Auntie Doll” Amy (Aunt), Robert “Sonny” Smith Jr. (Uncle).
