Felicia Renee Partee, 51, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Felicia was born in Akron, Ohio on October 2, 1970 to parents Frank Moore and the late Annie Jane Partee. She was the second eldest daughter of the loving couple. Felicia was a brilliant child, earning her diploma from John R. Buchtel High School (Akron, OH), her bachelor’s degree from Capital University (Bexley, OH), and her master’s from Kent State University (Kent, OH).
Raised in the church as a youth, Felicia was an intricate part of the Youth Department at her church Cascade Faith Ministries, Inc. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher, leader and singer. Felicia made lessons fun and engaging for all involved whether it was arts and crafts or acting out an entertaining short skit. She made sure each individual child had the opportunity to express their feelings and ask questions to help them understand the teachings and lessons of the Bible. Felicia was also instrumental in assisting with interactive ZOOM and online Sunday school lessons when the pandemic caused restrictions to church services.
Following in the footsteps of her mother, Felicia was a loyal educator. She taught at various schools in the Akron Public School system, including Ellet, Central-Hower and most recently Kenmore/Garfield High School. A lover of all things science, she helped students learn and respect the methods of science including chemistry and biology. Felicia was actively involved with the Science Fair for Akron Public Schools. She received the Ohio Academy of Science Governor’s Award/Edison Award for both Central- Hower and Kenmore High schools. She also received an Outstanding Teacher Award from the Akron Chapter of ACESS.
Felicia’s interests included cooking, reading, baking, arts, education, singing, dancing, Marvel movies and travel. She was known to invite family on vacation with her. Family was very important to her as she helped to care for her elderly parents even while facing health concerns of her own.
Felicia’s shining pinnacle was the love for her children Allen DaQuan, Jazmine Gabriella Renee, and Isabella Jesse Jane. She cherished her blessings from God and did her best to provide the constant love and affection that every child should have.
Felicia was loving, caring, understanding, and intelligent. She was a teacher in the all the best ways any student could ask for, a nerd in all the best ways any brother could ask for, a friend in all the best ways any sister could ask for, a daughter in all the best ways any parent could ask for, a Christian in all the best ways the Lord could ask for and most importantly, a mother in the best ways any child could ask for. She will be greatly missed as her light continues to shine warmth upon her family and friends.
Felicia was preceded in death by her mother, Annie and her brother, Christopher.
She is survived by her father, Frank Partee; sisters, Tammatha Little and Rachelle (Clarence) Carson of Akron; brothers, Alejandro and Jeremy Partee of Akron; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family- all equally important to her.
