She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 7, 1946. She grew up in Indianapolis, Detroit, and Ohio. Her religious involvement was Baptist until she met her husband Kenneth Lewis and she then converted into a Catholic. She worked hard for many years doing factory work and she was a loving Housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and sister which were all full-time jobs.
She was a very loving, giving, strong-minded, and upfront person. She would tell you how it is even if you did not want to know how it was. It was all out of Love though. She was the glue that kept our family together. She was an all-around handywoman. She could fix anything in the house and take on any type of home improvement project and she would finish the projects herself. She would always say that “I can do that myself” (with anything). She loved to bowl, play softball and she was on a team for both sports when she was younger. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Football team, which were her teams to watch. She also was a super Lebron James fan and was looking forward to him winning the championship this year.
She was married to her loving husband, Kenneth Lewis Sr., for 32 years. He passed away in 1998. She is also reunited with her daughter, Elaine, that passed away in 2005. They are all back together at this time in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Latonya Lewis, Michele Lewis; son, Kenneth (Christina) Lewis, Jr; grandchildren, Jasmine Lewis, Tiesha Lewis, Leilani Lewis, Mahogany Davis, Tiana Jamison, Emily Christopher, Miya Cooper, William Cooper, Allen Christopher, Dyveion Lewis, Kristopher Lewis, Brandon Williams; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Davis, Kehlani Davis, Carson Jamison; brother, Chester Johnson; sister, Samantha (Sandra) Summers, Shirly Day; sister- in-Law, Carolyn Johnson; many cousins, friends, and family. We all love you, Mom. Rest in peace.
