Franklin Delano Wood Jr was born in Akron, Ohio on January 28, 1965, to the late Franklin Delano Wood, Sr. and Emma Jones. He spent his formative years in Akron. While in high school, he was active on the tennis team and excelled in woodwork classes. Franklin graduated from Garfield High School in 1983. He eventually moved to Moreno Valley, California and joined Friendship Christian Fellowship Church. He met his future wife, Aretha Williams, at this church. Franklin and Aretha married in 2004. Afterwards, due to his wife’s promotion, they moved to Tucson, Arizona. Franklin enrolled in an electronics school and began working as an electrician apprentice. They moved back to California, and he continued work as an electrician. He also started working with his brother-in-law installing security systems. Franklin and Aretha decided to move back to Akron where they both found good jobs and became active members of Mountain of the Lord Church. Franklin was active in sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan. He also became an avid golfer; while living in California, he was part of a foursome that golfed every Tuesday and Saturday morning. He still did woodwork on the side as a hobby. He built a television cabinet for his in-laws and a wall unit for his wife’s home office. Franklin was always available to help with whatever was needed; including moving, repairing and building. Franklin worked full time and enrolled in Ohio Media School. He was in the middle of an internship at Total Christian Television. He utilized his newfound skills in his church home and was content doing what God had purposed in his heart. Franklin was dedicated to God and each year his faith grew stronger. Franklin crossed over into the loving arms of his Savior on the evening of November 6, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Delano Wood Sr; and his step-father, Willie Jones.
