Frederick Hayes passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was born on October 13, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to Milo and Dorothy Hayes.
Frederick attended the Akron Public School system and graduated from South High School in 1979. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1978. After graduation, Frederick enlisted in the United States Army service for five years as a combat engineer and motor transport operator. He received several decorated metals traveling to Baumberg Germany, Eura Germany, Jamaica, Honduras, and Panama. Being honorably discharged, Frederick enlisted in the Army National Guard service for fifteen years, retiring from the military as “Sgt. Frederick Hayes”.
Frederick worked at Gojo’s, Plastic Mold, B R Johnson and Waste Management.
Frederick was a very outspoken, fun to be around, and was always upbeat. He loved playing baseball and played for the original Tropicana Lounge on East Ave. and the baseball team “The Hustlers”. He loved “All” music from R&B, The Blues, Rock & Roll and yes, even country music. He was the life of any party he attended. We all know Frederick “Loved” to talk if he knew you, he knows you, he could tell you about yourself from the day you were born to the present.
Frederick could be found watching TV and all sports. He was a die-hard Browns Fan. He loved watching all the old westerns, and his favorite show was” The Walking Dead”, he never missed an episode. On Easter Sunday, his favorite movie was “The Ten Commandments”. His favorite saying was “Only in America”.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents Milo and Dorothy Hayes; brothers, Milo Hayes, Jr., and Armstead D. Hayes; sisters, Joan Belle, Bernadine Williams, and Deborah Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories son, O’Mar McCorvey; daughter, India Shelton; grandchildren, Omari, Onigue, Jordyn McCorvey, Naudia Shelton, Ny’Aire Shelton, Promise Love and Ger’Monie Banks; brothers, Lindford (Ellen) Hayes, Therman Hayes, Darryl Hayes and Lawrence Lilly; sisters, Darlene Hayes-Powell and Marlene Hayes. Special nieces and nephews, Latisha Hayes, Duane Hayes, DarShawna Powell, Melinda Hayes, Lindford Hayes, Jr., Krystal Hayes, Airean Hayes, Marlesha Ouedraoga, Durrell Hayes, Dwight Hayes, Jr., Andre Jacobs II, DeAngelo Winte, Latona Gillestie, Janice Pierce, Janet Pierce, Anthony Pierce, Jackie Jackson, Sylvia Jackson, Ernest Jackson and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.
