Ms. Gail Joyce Gwin was born November 7th, 1950, in Fairfield, Alabama to the late Clara Alice and Curtis Gwin, Sr. Gail was the second oldest of four siblings, Curtis Jr., Frieda and Roderick.. Gail has lived, worked and retired in Cleveland, Oh. She has lived in Cleveland for over 40 years.
Gail loved her high school alma mater, J.W. Sexton High School (in Lansing, Michigan) – where she went to all the basketball games, football games, and Friday night dances. She went on to attend and graduate from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting Degree. Gail also went on to receive her teaching certification from Notre Dame University in South Euclid, Ohio in later years. Gail worked for Medical Mutual for 14+ years. While at Medical Mutual she was very involved with Toast Masters International, where she won many awards and traveled to many competitions. After receiving her teaching certificate, she was a substitute teacher for several years in the Cleveland and Shaker Heights school systems. She became a substitute teacher so she could homeschool her daughter. When Jordan graduated from high school, Gail took some time off. Gail loved to travel and visit family. She loved her daughters, and extended family. She loved Dora (the family dog). And she loved God. She worked on her family’s genealogy for over 20 years. She had a deep passion for genealogy and knowing her roots.
Gail loved her daughters, grandchildren, extended family and her church home, The Word Church, Dr. R. A. Vernon, Pastor. She loved serving her family, and community – Ward 5. She loved to volunteer and support her community politically.
Gail departed this life on July 31st, 2025, at the age of 74. We all love her and miss her. However, Gail is in our future, and we will see her again… If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Gail is rejoicing in His presence!
Cherishing the many precious memories of Gail are – two daughters, Noelle M. Gwin and Jordan A. (Gwin) Belcher (Demitrius), three granddaughters, Tiana, Tabitha and Tessa, one sister – Frieda M. (Gwin) Johnson, two brothers Curtis Gwin, Jr., and Roderick Gwin. Niece, Sonja, Nephews Samory & Curtis, III., Aunts, Amanda E. Lockett, Georgia Beacham and Patricia Hayes… and a many other loving relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed..
