Geneva was born December 06, 1934, to Ada and Luther Jackson in Tazewell, Tennessee. A small town with one stop sign in Northeast Tennessee near the Kentucky border where nuclear bomb research was conducted in this area during WWII.

She attended Akron North High School and began her career washing and sterilizing glass ware and glass syringes for St. Thomas Hospital and worked her way up to Phlebotomy Supervisor. After 35yrs of service she was forced to retire a few years after Summa acquired St. Thomas.

As Phlebotomy Supervisor she was required to attended the annual luncheon and graduation ceremony for the St. Thomas School of Medical Technology Program graduates. One of her proudest moments as a mother was attending this luncheon and watching her baby boy graduate from this program, the University of Akron, and be hired by Duke University Medical Center performing Clinical Chemistry.

She was fiercely independent with a heart of gold and when she made up her mind it was difficult to talk her out of it. Creative and artsy, she enjoyed crocheting, quilting and taking care of her plants.  She loved to cook and feed everyone. Holidays, Backyard BBQ’s, Birthdays or just because. Anyone who knew her always knew they could find her in the kitchen. She always maintained a large extended family.

She is survived by her son, Theodore Thompson; a sister Betty Beinicks; 3 nieces: Chenelle, Jessica and Florance Mitchell; and companion of more than 30years James Fluellen Sr.

She is preceded in death by her father Luther Jackson, brother Howard Jackson, mother Ada Beinicks, and sister Ada Mae Beinicks-Mitchell.
