Geneva Boyer passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. Geneva McCorkle Boyer was born on March 9, 1941, to the late Claude and Geneva McCorkle in Cartersville, GA. She had five brothers and sisters. Geneva Boyer passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. Geneva McCorkle Boyer was born on March 9, 1941, to the late Claude and Geneva McCorkle in Cartersville, GA. She had five brothers and sisters. She moved to Akron, OH with her family when she was a young child.
She graduated from North High School in 1959 in Akron, OH. She attended Akron University. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church for 57 years. She worked for Akron Tile Supply and Key Bank as the Head Teller. Later in life when she fell ill, her daughter Yvonne was her caregiver.
Geneva was united in holy matrimony to Robert D. Boyer, Sr. for 57 years. This union was blessed with five children. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to gospel music, bingo, reading, bowling and she loved the Cleveland Indians.
On July 9, at 5:00 pm, the Lord called her home to sweet rest. Geneva was preceded in death by her brothers Claude and John; sisters Mattie and Pauline, and one son Robert D. Boyer, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 57 years, Robert D. Boyer, Sr.; sister, Lillia (John) Cawthon of Henderson, TN; daughters, Pamela Boyer and Yvonne Boyer; sons, Rodney Boyer and David Boyer; grandchildren; Gordon and Adarius Bell, Jessica Massengill, Geneva Coppinger, Tyler Stablein, Martin Boyer, LaKayla Stablein, and Jamal Evans; great-grandchildren; Shalyria, Adarius, Jr., Jay’Shawn, Gee’Anthony, Emanuel, Ja’Markus, De’Amarr, Taylor, and Adariae; life-long friends, Sandy Hatch and Gracie Burton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
