Gen Gentile Dunn, aka “GoGo”, age 62, of Akron, Ohio, transitioned to his heavenly home on February 2, 2023.
Gen was born on June 30, 1960 in Akron, Ohio. He was educated in the Akron Public School System.
As an adult, he worked for the City of Akron, the Board of Education and the Art Museum. He retired from St Paul’s Episcopal Church after 30 years of service.
He was a faithful member of New Exodus Christian Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Eugene Partridge Sr. He also attended South Street Mission under the pastorate of Pastor Richard Watson. GoGo loved communicating with family and friends. He enjoyed music, football and horse racing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee Dunn; mother, Lillian Belle Averitte Tucker; brothers, George Jacobs, Leonard Jacobs, Gregory Jacobs, William Jacobs and Larry Jacobs.
GoGo leaves to cherish his memory, 9 children, Markisha Jones, Chevaliee Robinson, Aramis Dunn (Bernadette Dunn), Andrea Monet Dunn, all of Akron, Ohio, Rashauna Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia and Daniel Slater, Natika Burris, Dante Nevels and Dexter Nevels; sisters, Mailan Fain (Dennis Fain Sr.) of Youngstown, Ohio, Ora-lee Dunn, Julie Tucker, Shawntae Tucker, all of Akron, Ohio and Tasha Tucker of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brother, Jimmy Lee Dunn Walker; and a host of grandchildren, Devenair Jones, Donavon Jones, DeAllen Lee, Dakota Lee, Kyce Robinson, Kayce Robinson, Jasonte’ Dunn, Aramis Dunn, Aaron Dunn, Chevaliee Robinson, Lucas Robinson, Sydney Robinson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
