George A. Duncan was born on March 27, 1941, to the late Rister and Fronia Duncan. He received his education from the Talladega County School System and graduated in 1959. In 1960 he moved to Akron, Ohio.

He had been a lifelong member of the Africa Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama, and while living in Akron, he became a member of Providence Baptist Church.

On July 9, 1966, he married Betty J. Shelton. They were together for twenty-three years, and to this union, two children were born, a son Marvin B. Duncan, and a daughter Jeanette L. Duncan.

George worked at Firestone for twenty-five years and retired from Americhem in 2005. After retiring he moved to Sylacauga, Alabama. Where he lived for twenty years, before returning to Akron in 2022.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going to Santuck Flea Market. He also enjoyed watching football and basketball games with his amazing son, going shopping, and talking on the phone with his Baby Girl(daughter), and gardening with his beautiful granddaughter.

He is preceded by death by his wife Dora Young-Duncan, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Rister (Fronia) Duncan, his siblings, Riley Duncan, Richard Duncan, Catherine Duncan, and Nellie Drake, and nephew Arvin Curtis Drake.

He leaves to cherish his memories son Marvin (Arnise) Duncan, daughter Jeanette L. Duncan, granddaughter Aleah N. Duncan, step-grandson Howard A. Hill. Sister Bettye Townsend. Favorite niece Monica (Keith) Floyd, special nieces Jackie Duncan, Loree Mc Donald, and Evelyn Drake. Special cousin Leon (Edwina) White, Bonnie Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
