He was preceded in death by his parents John and Nettie Lawton; brothers, Maudie, Sam, and John Lawton; sisters, Dorothy Crosby and Virginia Miller.
He is survived by his nephews, Pete Crosby, George (Mary) Lawton, and Rodney Miller; niece, Helen Bell, and Lila Miller; George is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, great-great-great-nieces and nephews, loving neighbors, and a host of extended family and friends.
