On November 26, 1930, the late Mr. & Mrs. Leonard (Annie Laura Graham) Zackery of Covington, Georgia were proud to announce their third child, Georgia Grace Zackery was born.
Georgia grew up in Newton County, and graduated from Washington Street High school, and later attended Cuyahoga Community College in the 1980’s studying Early Childhood Development, and Dental Technician.
Georgia joined St. Paul AME Church at an early age and served there until she moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1960.
Georgia enjoyed working as a Dental Technician repairing broken dentures and working with HeadStart Preschool children.
Georgia Married Walter J. Saffo in the early 1950’s and raised a family of seven children.
Georgia enjoys listening to live music (Jazz), she really enjoys family get together on Thanksgiving for her birthday celebration and the 4th of July summer cook outs. Georgia also enjoys cooking for the family and going for car rides.

Georgia quietly transitioned to be with the Lord on Thursday morning January 25, 2024. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Diana Saffo-Shropshire, sons Reginald (Karen) Saffo, Marcus Saffo, Gerald (Debra) Saffo, Dana (Sarene) Saffo, son in-law DL. Daniels, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Georgia also leaves to mourn two sisters, Annie Ruth Holt and Lucy Mae Johnson, Covington, Georgia, one brother Arthur L. (Patty) Zackery, Covington Georgia, and friends.
