Georgia McCormick (Bit) was born on September 20, 1944 to the union of K.V. Jackson Sr. (deceased) and Irene Jackson.
She attended grade school in Portage County (Randolph) – West Jr. High and graduated from South High School in 1963. She worked mostly in the Heath Fields, working many years at BridgePark Convention Center as a housekeeper.
She married Charles McCormick and raised four children.
Georgia was an impeccable housekeeper, nothing was ever out of place and she had a zillion what-knots, which she washed faithfully every week. She loved the Blues and oldies but goodies. One of her favorite songs was “Shining Star” by The Manhattans, Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross were her favorite singers. She loved to play cards, kiss all the babies and cussing. She also loved bowling and having family gatherings.
Georgia eased away to heaven on August 31, 2017. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Georgia Cole; father, K.V. Jackson Sr.; husband, Charles McCormick Sr.; brother, K.V. Jackson Jr.; sisters, Zelma Furguson, Esther Battle and Charlene Renee Jackson.
She is survived by sons, Charles McCormick Jr. (Coffy Palmer), Garland McCormick (Chantel Carter), of Akron, OH, Terrance McCormick (Misty Frame) and daughter, Charleen McCormick. Georgia was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Ebben (Leah), Garland Jr., Imani, Robert Jr., Courtney, William, Terrance Jr., Terrance II, Aaron, Tavien, Leandre and seven great grandchildren, Tray, Vyolette, Legend, Sean, Caleb, Serenity, Josiah; daughter-in-law Nita McCormick; special friend, Lynn Rita Vincent; mother (Irene X) Barefield (Ed deceased); brother Tommy Jackson (Oradell) and Robert X (Augustine) Rogers; sister, Irene Muhammad, Asya Minter (AC deceased) and Carlisa X Jackson; many, many nieces, nephews and friends.
