Gerald Allen Harmon was born on January 25, 1980, in Akron, OH to George and Geraldine Harmon. Gerald died unexpectedly and was received by his Heavenly Father at the age of 40 on March 6, 2020.
Gerald attended Akron Public schools and worked for many years as a Food Service Manager at Hometown Buffet. Gerald, affectionately called “Aboy,” had a genuinely sincere and humble heart devoting his time and energy to giving, volunteering, and helping family, friends, and those he did not know. He enjoyed cooking, morning walks, and getting dressed to take millions of “selfies.”
Gerald accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age and was not ashamed of professing his faith to anyone. He was musically gifted by God and used his ability to play piano/organ, teach and direct songs, and sing to minister to countless people; including serving as Minister of Music at Mt. Sinai United Holy Church for over 20 years, singing with the Harmon family, and more recently serving as the Minister of Music at Deliverance Christian Church for the past 8 years where he was a member. Gerald also wrote, composed, and even recorded music.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father, George Harmon Sr. and sister, Algina Harwell. Gerald is survived by his mother Geraldine (Wayne) Stargell; brothers, George and Alex Harmon; sister, Crystal Harmon; stepbrothers; John Wayne, Anthony, and Sebastian Stargell; stepsister, Jacqueline Stargell; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
