Gerald R. Vickers, age 66, departed this earthly life on June 9, 2020, after a short illness. Born in Akron, Ohio on May 25, 1954, he attended Akron Public Schools.
Gerald retired from Akron General Medical Center after 14 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and had a great love of clothes.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, James (“Slick”) and Nancy Vickers, as well as his brothers, Dale Cook and James (“Fish”) Vickers Jr.
He is survived by his brothers, Tyrone Vickers, Anthony Vickers and Ronald (Debra) Vickers; sisters, Sharilyn Kendrick, Yvonne (Lamar) Burney and Denise Montgomery; loving ex-wife, Jessica Vickers; daughter, DeHavilland McCall and grandson, Randall; as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family of Gerald Robert Vickers wishes to express sincere thanks to Cleveland Clinic – Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice Center for the care given to Gerald during his stay there, as well as to friends and family for the many comforting messages, prayers and other expressions of kindness and love.
