A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Geraldine was called to Heaven on March 22, 2024. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to John Wesley Parr and Louise Shelton Parr, both of whom preceded her in death – she was the fourth of five children.
Geraldine confessed to Christ at a very early age and was an active member at Affinity Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. This served as the roots of her unwavering faith and connection to Christianity.
Geraldine married the love of her life, Sam Allen, Jr., a loving union that lasted until his untimely departure. This marriage was blessed with two caring children: Gary David Allen and Terry Laverne Allen. Geraldine’s second husband, Lee James Wooldridge, also preceded her in death.
A graduate of John Hay, a Cleveland Public High School, Geraldine’s life was filled with determination and strength. She was employed at Sears and Brinks Security where she conducted security checks, supervised loss prevention and investigated security breaches. When she wasn’t working you could find her at the bowling alley, dancing the night away, journaling the activities of the day or boarding an airplane. She loved to travel!
Her generous spirit and pleasant personality made her adored by many. She could light up the room with her smile and charisma. She loved to spend time with her family and friends giving them sage advice. Always shooting straight from the hip she didn’t pull punches! Above all else, she encouraged everyone to take time to have fun in life!
She loved to shop for the latest fashion. Geraldine’s love of beauty transcended into her extensive wardrobe and joy of indoor gardening. She put great effort and pride into whatever she set her mind to, which showed in her beautiful house plants.
